One from the little lagoon near the north end of north beach at Fort Desoto. I had great fun watching the flapping run as he fished. Not knowing the species I thought he was warning me off at first until it became clear otherwise. Taken lying in the water desperately hoping nothing gave me a good soaking!

Nice capture Mike. Super detail in the neck feathers, beak and eye nice and sharp with the captured fish completing the story. I also like the nice clean two tone BG. TFS.

Excellent low angle shooting. Nice light and great to have it with meal.

Could use perhaps a 0.5 degree CW rotation. The far green BG makes it appear tilted, but only just.
Fantastic light and action. Beautifully taken IMO.
The fish may be similar to a garfish, long tom or something they get in shallow waters near the surface.

Lovely image Mike, good detail, nice colors, the fish is a bonus making the image more interesting. I agree with Akos regarding rotation. I also would remove what appears to be an insect from the side of the bird. Thank you for sharing.

Great POV and light.
I think the image needs to be rotated CW evrr so slightly. I could see aversion with a sliver more room on the left.
Love the fish in the mouth.
Is that an insect on his wing? Kinda neat if it is , but I would still clone it out.

Light and feather details in this image are great as is the behavior. Love it as is and that prey is a huge plus.
