This Blue-eyed Darner hovers more than other species and I occasionally get a shot at one. This is the same one I posted earlier. Canon 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4X, ISO 800, 1/640, f/9. Cropped to about 25% of full frame. Managed to get most of him in focus. He didn't stay still for a focus stack. Basic adjustments in LR, and to PS for some very minor BG cleanup and slight NR.

I think I should touch out the blur of the marking on the left rear wing.

These are getting better! Getting so much of it in focus and the eye pin sharp is very impressive. And with the right amount of wing blur as well. An excellent piece of work, Diane.

Yes I like this one Diane, the tail is a tad soft but I don't really think it matters because it is not a perpendicular view. I like the colours.

I like this one as well and I like the wing blur, it really gives a sense of motion to the image. I can almost hear the buzz from the image!

Hi Diane,

Like the details and balance of colours between BG and dragonfly. The wings blur is good too. Well done shot. TFS.

Cheers,

Hi Diane,

Very well done in flight catch. Critical focus is spot on and colors are very nice. I agree with taking out the light blurred square on that back wing.

The background really works well with the color of the creature. Can't imagine capturing these in flight, I have trouble when they are perched.
