Late afternoon takeoff on Chincoteague Island, Va. We were expecting hundreds, but only a few were sighted and we happened to be at the right place. C&C welcome.

Hi Geoffrey,

A fine image of the beautiful swan. The exposure is good and the slow 1/500 sec adds a pleasing blur to the wings.

The background sky is nice although there is a dust spot to the right in front of the swan you may want to remove.

I like the sun giving the image a pleasant look with the very white left wing as a contrast.

Good one, Geoffrey. Nice wing position, and the setting sun gives this a nice peachy, almost ethereal, look.

I like the way the setting sun has tinted the bird. Nice wing position and as already mentioned just a nice bit of blur on the wing tips.

Thanks Steen, and thank you for pointing out the dust spot.

I like the light, wing position, under wing detail and sharpness. I could see a version cropped a bit tighter but that is personal preference. Very well done Geoffrey!

Perfect light and the wing position and angle of flight are more than ideal.
I'd crop it tighter I think.
Well done with this!
