Sparrow hawk and Sasnd martin.
A different head turn from the previous shot of this bird.
Sparrow hawk with freshly caught Sand martin. This happened about 20 foot in front of the hide and I managed to get a few shots. Several people have seen these and they seem to go for this one with the hawk looking down at the still struggling martin. I don't know - it will be interesting to see the reaction. As i said before I am not usually soppy but I did feel a bit odd for a while.

Excellent soft light and nice colors, John. Great action shot and the way it is presented is not disturbing but still telling the story.

Great catch John, nice head angle.

Just like you I'm not too crazy about seeing a struggling prey, just my opinion.

Love it! The only thing that could make it better is toning down the bright area in ULC. All else looks fantastic.

Another great frame John. Everything looking good. I liked the first one better though. When the sparrowhawk was eye balling the prey. Nice work again..

Pretty impressive frame John!
Not gory to me. Tells the story of life and death.
Love all the environment you included.

Great action shot, nature in the raw, Like the repost if has a bit more punch to it, Great natural bg totally un-setup shot which for me adds a lot to it.
