With these old eyes of mine afraid I can't find any nits unless there is a tiny bit of noise in the Bg,think it's a very good portrait ,beak to shoulder there is a lot to cover, nice job well done Will.

Nice BG, good IQ.
Are these grey herons the same as our great blue herons?

Nice portrait shot, Will. He looks good in breeding plumage.

Between the dirty face and the dishevelled plumage this individual has seemingly gone through some tough times! Neat marbled BG, and I like the vertical composition. I'd likely brighten the eye if mine...

Thanks for the comments Gail.
It forms a superspecies with Cocoi Heron (http://www.arthurgrosset.com/sabirds/white-necked%20heron.html) A. cocoi and Grey Heron (http://www.arthurgrosset.com/europebirds/grey%20heron.html)A. cinerea. Indeed some authorities consider Great Blue Heron to be a sub-species of Grey Heron.
