This bird was nesting in my back garden and was busy collecting caterpillars for the chicks.

Lovely setting, Jon. The worm in the beak and the head turn towards the flower it pretty cool.

Not sure if it is a little steep, but I like it lots. What really balances the frame very nicely is the flower.
Nice work!

Great pose, beautiful perch with flower, and the worm tops it off nicely. I might only wish (to borrow a page from John R.'s book) for a little variation in the bg.

Nice image Jonathan, the bird has a good head turn and is nicely balanced by the blossom. The caterpillar is the icing on the cake. I like the oof leaves and the clean background but am intrigued by the colour, is it a well out of focus brick wall?

David 10/10, it is! This perch was placed just by the nesting box - took about 20 sec once I had the image I removed it. I didn't want to risk putting up a back drop, though on reflection I may have been able to do something without disturbance - eg a sheet of camo material about 20' back would have done it.

Love the perch, the bird, and especially the worm! I haven't calibrated in a little while, so this might just be me, but I'd bring the shadows up and sharpen the bird just a touch more.

Really like this one a lot. I would clean up the fresh break just to the left of the bird but that's just a nit pick on my part.

A very pleasing image, The flower adds a nice touch to the perch. A good head turn and an extra bonus on the worm.

I like the catch, perch, pose and composition. I would clone out the little piece of a leaf on our right just above the perch. Well done Jonathan.

Hi Jon very pleasing image , good job done on this one .
I just might open up the blacks as they do appear a little choked to me .

Lovely image well balanced. Love the head angle and the overall details in the photo. I agree about the black been a bit too dark, I may just bright up the image a tad bit.
