This is the same individual I posted yesterday. I had two perches going for it (with speaker between the two) and it took this one frontally (which is cool to have some images of each side!).
Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/160s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped for composition, removed a bluish cast on the head, darkened the brightest leaves, darkened the pupil, lightened the iris, cleaned up a few strands of spider web on the head. NR to the BG. Audio used.

Thats a cracking bird Daniel. Bit of something in the back - but you know me !! One tiny nit- the leaves look as though they are wanting to point upwards if you know what I mean. They seem to be showing a lot of underside.
No big deal

Hi Daniel,
What strikes me the most about this picture is how perfectly the blacks have been exposed. You are the king of the 7D!
I like the green BG and feel there is enough subtle variation in the greens to please my eye.
I see what John is saying but would not have noticed it on my own.
Lovely IQ on the redstart. This is a nemesis bird for me so would love this in my files,

Great to have a place where you actually can do a setup, Daniel. Just as beautiful as the previous shot.

Glad he turned around; the previous post made him look as if his head was on backwards. Lovely shot, with amazing exposure of the blacks. Nicely done.

Great looking bird and excellent capture. I like the detail in the black feathers, the diagonal of the perch and the lovely clean background. I would love to have seen it a little larger to see more of the details but it is a lovely shot anyway.

I like the pose, perch, details, sharpness, exposure, BG and composition. I would clone out the broke off piece on the perch at the birds right foot. Excellent image Daniel.
