This starfish was temporarily stranded at low tide just prior to sunrise on Sanibel Is, FL. I like how they leave tracks in the wet sand as they slowly move around on their hundreds of tiny tube feet. 5D II, 90 mm tilt/shift, 0.6 sec, f/16, ISO 400, tripod, live-view manual focus, mirror lock, cable release. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

I like the composition, the contrast of the starfish and wet sand is really good, drawing my eye in to appreciate the detail captured.

THis is unusual, but very nicely composed and executed. Congratulations! :)

Another nice one, Steve.

But is this subject matter appropriate for the macro and flora forum, or would it be a better candidate for the wildlife forum? Yet that doesn't seem right either.

Maybe BPN needs to add a new "Art In Nature" forum to receive special images such as this! What do others think?

In any event, the subject, color, sharpness, composition and detail are all excellent. Wherever you might post it, Steve, I would look for it and thoroughly enjoy it.

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

Norm: I agree that this one is stretching the limits for "Macro." Though, as you note, it doesn't fit very well with the other forum options either. My thought is that, as the Forums are currently set up, Macro is the "best" fit for this image. :S3:
