I always look forward to seeing the Holly blue - it means the start of macro season! They usually appear around May along with the Orange tips. The Brimstones appear earlier but they are not common on my patch.
The trouble with Holly blues is that they tend to land on shiny leaved trees and plants such as holly of course and ivy - as this one did.

Gorgeous detail! With some luck, maybe the shiny leaves could contrast nicely with the powdery texture of the butterfly.

Nice details as Diane mentions. I also like the inclusion of the leaf tip on far left. Nice image.

Well taken. Does not look like you could get a slightly more ideal angle. It appears the butterfly is slightly angled away.
