Well, fact is, I don't know the name of this flower :o

I was trying out with a Zeiss Makro-Planar 100 F2 on a S5, ISO 100 f5.6 1/250 sec. Looked up, and saw this flower on a tree :) Anyhow, sometimes I find myself running out of ideas on how to photograph flowers. So, I would appreciate your comments and suggestions on this one.

Thanks for viewing !

I can't remember the full name but it's a magnolia tree you're standing in front of herre! Your lighting seems a little dark to me - try going in and doing a curves or levels adjustment so more of the detail of the flower and its base are showing. I think your BG is great - just need a tad more room around all the edges.

Hey Desmond, nice sharp image, and I like the lighting on the flower. Nomally I prefer to see a nice solid color BG, but the colorwash of the blue and white look good.

Beautiful shot, and the background is the reason that that Zeiss macro lens has me just itching for the stock market to improve!
