Blackcap at woodland pool
Has to be one of my favourite birds evn more so than the male. Have started racking out a bit with the zoom and it certainly helps with DOF as long as the image can take a crop. This one is about 80% of full frame.

Hi John,

Have to agree that the female Blackcap is a very pretty little bird and this shows her off beautifully. Lovely pose and nice clear detail - down to the drops of water on her tail.

Very sweet - well done.

Very pretty bird indeed. Nice pose, excellent eye contact and nice water with all those colorful pebbles, John.

Another pool specialty image...man it is so productive for you. Neat head turn, and one thing I like about your pool images is the view of the bottom of it (and I say this as someone who normally likes lower shooting angles). Keep them coming!

Thanks again,Guys.
Daniel-Thats most encouraging to know my old fashioned methods and such are enjoyed by some at least. You probly know my thoughts on low angles and resuting reflections !
My pictures are dictated by my fairly basic gear in todays terms,so its good to be appreciated. I do tend to get a little overwhelmd when I see the broad range of stuff that can be had by travel which I,m sad to say is beyond me.
Thanks again.

Love the color balance and tone and feel of it John. Might take a little off the left side. Drops on the tail is a big plus.

Spot on Ed !
Thought about it I must admit the body position made it hard to decide ! All depends on that head turn !
Will do
