Beautiful birdscape type of photo. Love the position of the bird with the water showing where the bird hit.

Im visiting Homer in July, is there Eagles still around then?

Thanks Raybel,

Eagles are year round in the Kachemak Bay area.

Alan:

Lovely birdscape indeed. Nice example of how small in frame can really work to tell the story.

Great sense of depth.

Cheers

Stunning birdscape Alan, I like the wing position and the ripples in water and those beautiful snow capped mountains in the back drop. Wonderful image.

Hi Alan, lovely setting, and I really like the wintery feel to this.

Hi Alan, What a breath-taking scene - and the Eagle at full stretch to complete it.

However, there is something not quite working for me - I think it is the ripple pattern of the water - it seems to break-up the image - you have the bird against a complex, detailed background and then a further, different complex background. And so the bird seems to me to be just "floating" (no pun intended) - it doesn't anchor the image or lead into the background - it is just there in isolation. So, not for me this time!

Thanks for making me think about it!

Regards, Gerald

Talk about a bird scape! Love the snowcapped mountains in the background and the eagle looks beautiful as he's about to enter the water. Very nice Alan

Spring has sprung! This would be a beautiful shot without the eagle, but the bird adds a special feeling. Great for a calendar

Great wide shot Alan. Can see this on a cafe wall !
I,ve been back a few times and keep looking at where the tree line hits the water. It seems that the water is higher than the shore. Probably and optical thingy. No big deal.
Good stuff

excellent bird in landscape shot Alan, it looks good to me. I might tone down the whites in the mountains a bit. I can tell this looks gorgeous in a large print
