This is by far my favorite Eastern Screech Owl in flight shot to date. I love the wings position and the prey it was carrying back to the nest.
Shot taken in Florida.
7D2 + 70-200 IS II, flashes, 1/250, f/16, ISO1600, handheld, Manual, handheld, no trigger.

Great flash technique! Nice wing position, details and prey. Love the birds focus on the nesting hole and the included tree. I might add some contrast to the eye to make the face "pop" a bit more.

I can see why this is your fav. Killer wing positions and you can clearly see they prey and nest hole. Were you prefocused for this?

Excellent flight shot. I seem to recognize the nest hole shown in your previous posts.

Marina, yes, I prefocused on the perch below. That is why I tried to get as much depth as I could possible. At f/16, when it started flying in, I have some room for errors so do speak.

Karl, yes to the previous image only. This is a different nest than most of my shots from last year.

I really appreciate the technical savvy behind the making of this image. The story telling aspect of the image is great. Great composition with the positioning of the nesthole and bird in the frame.
