This is one of a number of recent images of an Osprey while I was visiting S.Carolina. The wingtips are blurred - does this detract from the image (because they're blurred) or add to it (because they convey a sense of motion)? Or, as alway, any other comments. Actually I meant to shoot at a higher shutter speed and ISO, but forgot to change the camera settings before making this image!

D300, Nikon 80-400, hand-held, VR on.

# Exposure Time (1 / Shutter Speed) = 1/500 second = 0.002 second
# Lens F-Number/F-Stop = 9/1 = F9
# Exposure Program = aperture priority (3)
# ISO Speed Ratings = 200

HI Richard For birds coming straight like this one I would prefer the wings without the blur.

I like the exposure and sharpness in the head. Always enjoy the intense look in their eyes. For the wings I would rather have them fully up or down. Might want to crop some top and bottom for proportion and making the bird larger in frame !!! Great blue bg !!! Really nice !!!

Great capture, like the focus on the head.
