I agree that pheasants are underrated. IQ on the bird is nice. This close-up really allows for appreciation of the feather pattern. I'm shocked you got a sharp frame at 1/125! I like the colors in the BG, but there is a lot of noise.

Very nice portrait John. I like the details on the feathers and the sharpness is good. Just a wee bit noise on the BG Well done

That is a delightful portrait alright! The bird, the details, the light, and the background are more than pleasing. I never met a pheasant I didn't like...

Yes John the later post is better lovely detail and a fine head pose. I wonder if it would take just a little more exposure.

Jonathan. Yes it dos look a tiny bit darkish but to be honet I intended it to be so, to get a bit more "artificial" detail. I won't pst another- I think three is enough!!
