We were delighted to observe this bunch of little rascals in October last year, close to Mata Mata camp in the Kalahari. The den was not too far from the road and consisted of a few relatively large burrows in close proximity. Mother Cape Fox was accompanied by her little ones, some busy suckling while others kept popping out of a burrow and jumping into the next, so up to this day I am not sure how many pups were present at this particular scene:)

It was quite challenging to try and photograph this Fox family, there were a few other vehicles present and we did eventually find a spot to park our own somewhere in-between, although it wasn't ideal. The cubs would suckle and then sleep for a while, bundled together inside one of the burrows. Some of us patient enough to wait were surprised to see them climb out and play and they were so fast that we struggled to follow their zig-zag movements and comical tumbles. Herewith a few images I find most amusing, there are hundreds of them so I just picked a few to share...

Thank you so much for viewing, I appreciate it:cheers:

Well Gabriela i love this a lot , well chosen frames to show a small part of their life .I loved to stay there , sadly it was close to the camp so in the morning and evening very busy with traffic , sometime they did not even come out because of that .As i am a great fan of action stuff my favorite is the last frame .

Very well done your sequence :5.

Cheers Andreas

Thank you Andreas,

The last frame...I tried to get closer with a rather big crop, sacrificing whatever IQ was there and for the sake of showing the expression on the pups' faces. I will start another thread with those little guys at some stage, too cute not to share and I hope it brought a smile on your face...

Thank you so much for viewing and comments, much appreciated!

Hi Gabriela - How could it not bring a smile to one's face! Such cuteness and you did well with the light and action.

Love the lighting, action and general cuteness factor here Gabriela, with any of these worthy as a stand alone submission. :5

Thank you Andreas, Rachel and Marc:cheers:

Oh they were so cute, my little rascals, and I have much more to share:)

It was quite hard to decide which frames to pick, and in a while I will show you more from this sighting. So special to see them interact and I am truly happy you enjoyed this sequence.

The harsh sidelight did make this a big challenge to get decent images.

Well done and a nice story!
