Hi William,

You're a lucky man having this kind of regular access to these Eider Ducks! Initially, I though - maybe a lower perspective may have been better, but I do rather like the highlights and reflections on the water.
You have a couple of hot spots there on the neck and the underwings. Maybe you could knock the exposure compensation back by 1/3.

Great title!

Regards,

Gerald

Thanks Gerald, much appreciated.

I live next to the harbour and I usually sit at water level. On this occasion I was actually on my way home on the harbour wall, when I saw the duck :S3:

Fun shot, great title William. What makes this image for me is the beautiful golden tones reflected in both the foreground and background. Agree about toning down the hotspots a bit (even if they're not actually blown). :S3:

Love the light on this one.
Agree with above critique re: hot spot on neck.
I am OK with the POV because of the lovely reflections in the water.

Yeah...they all say that! I like the pose and the colours in the water. I too agree with toning dwon the brightest highlights. Too bad the light was not from your right instead of your left (for the face), but I still like the light quality and mood it brings to the image.
