This is an adult female Bonellis' eagle that was rescued from a "zoo" a few years back. She is heavily imprinted on humans and so far has been impossible to reintroduce to the wild

My favourite of all raptors i think

Nikon D7000
105mm micro
1/160
f4
ISO 400

Hand held. Cropped for composition and run NR on background. USM on subject and lightened the area under the brow as this was in shadow

Thanks for your comments and critiques

Pwerful bird. Your fine detail caused me to stop and really study this image. The yellow eye and the reflection in it are captivating to me.

Beautiful portrait, very nicely done. The details are excellent as is your choice of composition. I prefer the smoothness of the BG at the top half of the image - the bottom left has a bit of roundish blotches that could be smoothed out a tad IMO. Overall quite appealing!!

The word powerful has been used a few times, and I'm going to use it again. Very powerful!! The details and exposure look great also. Very nice Frame.
