It is mainly found in the understory of lowland primary and secondary forests, however populations are likely to be declining owing to habitat loss.

Hi Pao, I like the inquisitive pose, and what striking blues this species has. I do like how the flycatcher is perched on the end of the perch. Moving to your left or right would have had the flycatcher against a darker part of the BG, and more ideal. I can see a vertical comp here too.

That is a pretty nifty looking bird with terrific dark blues going on. I like the composition and the subject's pose. I also like the dark deep forest feel but I do wish the bright elements were not as prominent in the BG. I also see a bit of a halo around the perch and some parts of the bird...perhaps the result of some masking.

Stuart I agree with your assessment. I was shooting from a prone position with the brook to my right and obstructing branches to my left. I even think the weird front bokeh was caused by branch obstructions fronting the lens. This bird is so twitchy it makes mexican jumping beans look like a sleepy turtle.

Daniel sharp eyes on the masking. It gives it a sort of dreamy/fantasy effect. ;)

Your feedback is most invaluable. I feel humbled from your constructive criticism. :)
