Long time lurker, finally going to take the plunge and post some shots. Please be gentle :)

Here's a flight shot of a Canvasback, taken at Lakeview marina in Windsor ON.

Derek:

Glad you started posting, always the hardest part is getting started!

Canvas backs are great looking birds, but can be a challenge to expose well. The soft light helped here.

Great full spread landing pose, shows the big feet well.

The all important eyes are well displayed.

TO my eyes, it need a bit of CW rotation, based on the alignment of the feet and reflection.

Might consider cleaning up the debris in the water at the top of the frame.

Don't let the comments discourage you. It is a very good shot, that would benefit from a bit of tweaking.

Look forward to more.!

Cheers

Thanks for the comments and suggestions Randy.

Here's a re-edit of the photo.

Derek:

Better overall, with less distraction from the debris at top of frame. A little more room below if you have it (didn't lose it all during the rotation!)

Cheers

Thanks again for your critique Randy.
