Hi Dan - Interesting look at the textures and details. I wish the eye was lower in the frame rather than so near the top edge but I do recognize that then it would not fill the frame. I also think you needed to go to f11 or even stopped down a little more to have the dof and sharpness throughout. As is, I think the fall-off in the llc is too prominent in the frame. Perhaps a more square crop at the top of the leg would be a viable alternative. Something like this.

Rachel

Hello Dan,

...only minutes ago (as I was busy viewing Rachel's wild dog image) I was thinking how beneficial contact with nature is for humans...the brevity of our sightings have a psychological effect that often lasts for many hours, but us photographers have a great advantage: we take those sightings back home with us, in all their beauty and colour:) I am looking at your image this evening as if it were a work of art - I cannot help it, this kaleidoscope of colour resembles a painting, and I love art in its many forms. This is inspiring, I must say Rachel's repost is so pleasing from the aesthetic point of view that the image just takes my breath away.

Superb colours, a powerful image worthy of appreciation - I thoroughly enjoyed viewing, thank you.

Kind regards,

D. Robert Franz

Wondertful colour, texture & detail and something a little different here as well Dan, with Rachels crop RP taking this up a notch also.

Thanks for the edit Rachel.
I had in mind the same crop, but the one I posted is a huge crop (maybe 10% of the frame) and I thought going any less would be too much.
Yours does work for web presentation and I like it.

Interesting, its like a painting or a mosaic design. Very nice colours and I don't mind the original crop. Interesting image!

Cool colours and textures here Dan, agree with Gabriela it's got wonderful aesthetic appeal.
Pity that it's such a huge crop (considering possible prints etc), but I like Rachel's recrop a tad better as well.

Hi Dan , very different, very cool view to an Iguana !!
Nicely done , good detail and overall tones.
Only the blues are bothering me a bit , cause i have seen a lot of them in captivity and in the wild long ago in CR . But i have never seen them carrying that much blue in their scales :eek3:.

Well doen, TFS Andreas

Hi Dan, I do like the colours, textures and tones and something different, but do find that the eye placement in frame not quite working for me, it's almost secondary which may not be ideal?
