The Chesapeake bay has not been this cold and frozen since I was a kid and it really has the ducks packed into any open water they can find. Handheld Canon 7DII 500f4, ISO500,F5.6@3200sec.Processed in DPP. Really thinking his right foot is frost bitten, from the withered pale look and scaly webbing? Thanks for looking.

Fantastic shot Joe. Awesome detail in the face and eye, and I love the beads of water on his chest. Your exposure looks bang on to my eyes. And I like how the head falls in front of the left wing, as well as your background colours.

Canvasbacks are a treat to photography, especially when they come rushing in as a flock. This poor guy does look like he has frost-bite, but otherwise he looks pretty healthy. I've seen ducks survive even after having a foot fall off. They're strong birds, especially a canvasback.

you captured a great dynamic pose Joe, exposure is good and I like the position of the dangling webbed feet. I would try to extract a bit more details in the blacks, a bit of noise has crept in the darker part of the belly.

An excellent dynamic frame.

Really nice work...that red eye and curled wing tips compete it.

Action caught beautifully, good to get the water droplets, very nice job.

Wow, I love that red eye. Quite sharp on the face, and the overall pose is rather neat with the top wingtip seemingly wanting to wrap around the head. Just a touch tight in the frame IMO, but still good.

Hi Joe, I enjoyed your previous post of this fellow, and Im enjoying this one even more. Love the pose, sharp, and the colours of the head and red eye really pop so well. The droplets add interest, as does the layered BG. Well captured.
