Finally getting a chance to sort thru the images from Tx Hill Country. I think this is one of my favorties because this common little guy just looks so elegant in this setting.
Taken on the Los Madrones ranch on a cloudy morning.
Thanks for looking,
Lou

Great perch and pose Lou. Good sharpness. Looks a little orange rather than red on my monitor. Then again, I'm viewing this on my laptop, and I've had problems with reds displayed on the internet lately. Thanks for posting.

Hi Lou. Really nice pose and composition here. When I opened it up in CS3 it was 1000% different than in the browser. I think you forgot to convert to sRGB?

I played with it a little and dropped the red saturation -10. I think the red looks more natural on the bird that way. I'd mask out the flowers though so they keep the red they have.

strange.. It is sRBG (SM olny takes sRGB). It was a cloudy day so it will be a little saturated.

Lou,
Nicely done, great details and sharp eye contact with a good head angle. I like the perch, it adds flair to your composition...:D The bird does look a little orange...

Great setting, details and BG. I might go for a wider crop to get the bird out of the center and maybe not to clip blossoms. I agree that the reds look a bit orange. I'm assuming your monitor is calibrated? I'm sure processed differently would make this even better.

Really nice Lou! that is quite a perch! wish it had a catch light but sometimes it cannot be helped.

looks same for me on web and photoshop...tried taking a bit of yellow out and sure did kill the bg.
May have to color correct via mask to preserve that glow.....bird does appear a bit orange to me also.

The setting and pose is just wonderful and the color is very very minor

The details on the blacks on his face are spectacular. I would like to see more room on the right and complete flowers. Even those little webs on the perch add a bit to this lovely image.

Really love the setting of this image, Lou. Very elegant. Wish for something to punch up the eye, a little catchlight maybe. Nice work!

Gorgeous composition and love the perch and pose on the flowering branch. I agree off centering the image would strengthen this capture but beautiful work Lou.
