Taken at a local park.
SS 1/2000, ISO 800 (looks good on the D7100), f/5.6, Nikon D7100/Nikkor 300mm f4/1.4x TCEII
Handheld, standard PP work, removed catchlight in eye. Didn't do any NR, does it need it?
Critique appreciated.

Nice looking portrait. Maybe I would give the BG just a little NR, but it looks ok. The bird is nice and sharp. Maybe extract some more detail on the cheek and neck area? Well done and thanks for sharing

Nice portrait here. Very good details, and the profile pose gives us a nice view of the sloping forehead-into-the-bill this species has. I think I would have given a bit more room below (and perhaps all sides to retain the ratio), and the midtones could be darkened just a tad IMO. I love the water reach out on the chest.

Thanks guys. William--I will work on the neck and BG, good idea. Daniel, I have tried that comp, and while some may prefer it, I like it this way. Personal preference :) I will try darkening the midtones though.
