...from several thousand feet above ground level. It's not always successful to shoot from my "right seat" through the curved Plexiglas door window of a Bonanza, but I always try when I see something good, and sometimes it works. Canon 5D3, 100-400 II at 135mm, ISO 200, f/7.1, 1/1600 (for turbulence). No apologies for no foreground....

Sweet Diane...!! especially love those flowly lines streaming over the mountain and the diagonal composition. No Nits. I have Flown over Yuma myself, no cloud and a lovely green patchwork set against the desert. It was in a commercial plane however...

I love this Diane, great use of the diagonal line and the low clouds over the mountain range...very moody image.
I might play with a tad darker version too?
Good job getting this from an aircraft!

Hi Diane, no suggestions from me...I love it just the way it is :S3:

Stunner Diane! Love the "feel", textures, wispy clouds... well.... all of it!

Thanks, everyone! I'll try a darker version when I get a minute. This was darkened quite a lot in LR and given some Clarity -- I forgot to mention any processing. This is almost full frame. The view toward the sun and hazy air was pretty washed out -- there is almost no clear air anywhere anymore.

I did a rework of this in B/W and thought I'd toss it in.

Hi Diane..

This is still a great image. I don't have a definite preference between the two, maybe a slight bias towards the colour.
