Horned Lark.

I was shooting with 7D Mark II using a 500 plus 1.4x extender the first time.
I had two target areas (put down some food on the snow).
One was about 20 feet away, the other was about 80-85 feet away.
The closer ones came out beautifully sharp.
The ones at longer distance lacked details, implying out of focus situation
but they might not have been at all.

Awesome details and colors. I would prefer less of a shadow (get lower?) and a slightly better HA, but still a winner in my book. I would also clone out the white spot to the left of the bird.

Very nice closeup shot of this bird Karl. I was also using the same setup as you, and I was getting so much negtive feedback on the images, I decided to start using my 5D Mk3 again. Still not made my mind up yet with the 7D Mk2, but I will go back to it one day :S3:
