Grand Cayman Amazon

Our National Bird and the only breeding Parrot in our Islands. It is a subspecies of the Cuban Amazon. Our sister and smaller Island of Cayman Brac also have their own Subspecies.


Not usually a shy bird at all but they're always very high in the trees which make it dificult to get a decent photo.

Tons of character in this curious fella! I like the perch, BG, comp, pose. I do wish the belly and undertail coverts were better lit, but still a super fine and fun image.
