What a great looking duck and you caught him in a really nice pose too. This looks pretty darn good considering the ss you got stuck with! Nice exposure and details. I might be tempted to lighten up the head and eye area just a little to bring a little more attention to the eye. I would love to shoot this species some day. Nice catch!

A super pose, Sharpness looks very good for 1/640. The exposure looks good, I agree with David on the eye, it needs just a little more light. well done.

Beautiful image, liked the sky tones and the crisp bird, especially the chestnut band. You have a couple of sensor spots on the top/top-left which I would remove.

Thanks for the feedback, I agree the head/eye area appears a little less than ideal. It was in deep shade, I was a little concerned over processing artefacts if I lifted the shadows any further.
