2008 at Bull River BC. Canon EOS 1D MKIII, jpg

Details as requested: Canon EF 100-400 L series zoom + 12mm Canon ext tube, four flashes set at 1/32 power and 3 on the subject at about 2.5' and one to light the backdrop. Several feeders were set up around the camera equipment and one behind the flower. Normally I spike the flowers with sugar water, but this time I relied upon the feeder as there were just too many birds shuffling for a place to feed. The weather was cold and rainy which kept the hummers coming to the feeders rather than seeking natural food. ISO 100 and 1/250 X sync, camera on manual. Exposure ranged from f/14 to f/22 depending on which hummingbird arrived. Hope this helps.

Welcome to BPN, Wally! Great first post, I like the pose, details and eye contact. The OOF flower/leaf balances it nicely and it would work without them, too. Could you post some techs? Keep them coming!

Very nicely done. But how? The specs would help... Like the sharpness and the BKGR but do tell us more.

ps: Welcome.

Welcome.

Lovely, excellent wings and action. The red flowers goes well with the BG.

Hi Wally- it's nice to see you here. The hummer is nicely placed in the frame and the angle of the bird is appealing. I also like how the left side of the image is framed with the oof foliage.
