Caught this guy hunting at last light. Good size crop and pushed the ISO way higher then I like to go but figured had nothing to lose. Canon 7DII 500f4+1.4 extender, ISO 4000,F6.3 @ 1600sec. RAW converted in DPP cropped, sized and sharpened in PS. Not sure why I was at f6.3 instead of 5.6, I knew I wanted to almost over expose and kept cranking up the ISO and shooting until I got some blinkies so maybe bumped it then IDK. Thanks for looking.

Great shot. And at ISO 4000 it cleaned up nicely. You've captured this guy in his element, and so I like the crop you choose. Great background and nice detail on the owl considering the distance and post processing.

Love the grass and the sky bg at the top of the frame. Small in the frame works nicely for me. Very well done.

Hi Joe, the high ISO has held up very well in this, together with the IQ on the Owl. Well placed in the frame, and although the sky adds a splash of colour, I can see a version cropping down from the top a touch, and not harming the image. :w3

Very nice small in the frame image.
I love the blue at the top.
I would clone out or dodge the vertical stalk just in front of the owl.
