I had posted a similar image earlier, but the image didn't have much details on the owl. I tried to pull out a little more details here with selective application of Nik Detail Extractor. Would like to hear your comments.

Thank you Dan. I picked the wrong image with the snow a bit too grey. Hopefully this is an improvement. Loi

nice take off with good details and exposure, if you could get the owl to come right at you with both eyes fully visible it would be more dramatic and engaging but a nice frame overall

I would set the white point slightly higher

A beautiful shot, Loi. The snow kick is an important part of the story, and I like the bg. In a perfect world, the pupil of the second eye would be visible, but I would love to have taken this.

Stunning SO in flight image. I like the comp, the details in the owl feathers and those amazing eyes.

I really like the BG colors and the low angle. Snow kick is great.
Details look good everywhere but perhaps a bit lacking on the face.
I like the vegetation on the ground and didn't even notice the grey in the snow until you said so.
Agree it should be fixed now that I see it!

Thank you everyone for your helpful comments. I decided to take another crack at it by going back to the RAW file to try to get more details out of the owl. Also do a pano crop to reduce the dead space on top. Hope you like it better. Thank you. Loi

Re-post is an improvement on an already excellent shot. If you have these baited or called, is it possible to predict the flightpath, as the lack of full view on the second eye is the only (small) weak point in the shot

The re-post looks better Loi. More detail and I like the pano. Glad you got up there again and got some nice frames like this one. Looks like the new lens is perfect for these incoming snowy shots. Well done

Excellent image. Spectacular take off pose with nice flash of snow flake on superb BG. Wonderful composition in RP.
Love the frame.
