Theme Pied-Billed Grebe

I had just received my new lens and went out in my community to try it out. This was shot wide open at 600mm, not a strong point with the Tamron 150-600mm.(Not to say I haven't executed very nice shots wide open since, but I try and stop down one stop to 7.1 @ 600mm.) I layed down on a dock and waited for the grebe to get relatively close.

I like the bathing behavior and the water drops, harsh light made it a bit difficult here and the upper part of the BG is a bit busy

I really like what you were going for here, Ed. Great action/behavior you captured. Too bad for the harsh light. I've done a quite RP to show you my vision of your image.

Marina,

Very nice. Removing more from the bottom and top really helped focus more attention on the Grebe. I showed more on top to show more splashing,maybe that was a bad idea.
Couldn't do much with the very hard light. Thanks again.
