I too like the image and agree a little more contrast because the bird looks a little soft but I am sure it isn't. Maybe just brighten the eye a little?

Yes, the repost addresses the need for sharpening, although as you say a bit of crunchiness is starting to appear. Just easing off a bit on it would be best. I love the perch colours, but not so much the large oof FG and BG parts. Moving well to your left would have been great IMO, but I realize it may not have been possible due to a few possible factors. Still a nice frame with a good "high key" feel to it.

Yes the repost is better but a tad crunchy - maybe the radius is a little high, one or two step sharpening at differing sizes?

Daniel no way to move left the next step would put you in water all the way to England :bg3: I had walked out a jetty and dropped between a couple boulders to get to water level.

I like the feather detail on this image. The whiteness of the bird and BG contrast gorgeously with the bright greens of the rock weed and I love the way the focus of that green fades away from the feet of the bird in both directions.
