Gorgeous light on the bird with lovely eye and catch light. Great flight shot with awesome dark BG making the harrier POP!

Another nice Harrier frame in late evening light. I like the good look at the eye and the dark Bg. A little better left wing position would have been cool but a nice frame none the less. Well done Arash

A beautiful Frame Arash.
Excellent PP and I like the way the light highlights the head.

Golden light on the head is beautiful, the downward angle and dark background not only highlights the harrier, but adds a cool, sinister look to the image. Very nicely done.

Superb image. I love the dark orange light against the dark BG. I agree with David that if the left wing was a bit more up and with the orange light hitting as well would had been perfect. But nonetheless this is a image I wish I had!.

Dramatic lighting, great eye contact and processing. I need to play a bit with my images with such dark BGs. By the time I convert them to JPEGs, I tend to get banding and/or pixelation. None of that visible here.
Well done Arash.

Hi Sidharth,

Thanks for your comments here is a few things that might help.

Use Canon DPP for RAW conversion, save as 16-Bit TIFF.
When in Photoshop apply very gentle (not strong) NR to the BG. Sometimes stronger NR causes posterization in the BG
When saving output use save for web and progressive mode, make sure you embed color profile

Thanks for the tips Arash! I do use DPP 4.x and convert to 16-bit TIFFs. Was probably heavy handed with the BG NR. Will retry with a lighter touch. Thanks!

fantastic bird in lovely last rays of the day. Love how you kept the noise in control. with that kind of high ISO and dark BG. The light and the eye contact just puts the viewer at the scene.
