That a grand shot Vanessa. The bird, bark and just a hint of some gradation in the background. A very pleasing shot. The light on the bird is really nice.
Great stuff in my humble view.

Congrats on getting this beautiful species. I'm glad you were able to catch his yellow markings, and a perfect woodpecker pose. Nice light and color; the bird's coloration works nicely with the birch tree. If I had two wishes to put it over the top, they would be a slightly lower POV, and slightly less tree in the comp. Those are both subjective.

I would be stoked to have a shot of a Flicker this good in my files!! Well done on all counts. Maybe split the tree in half as it is a bit dominant, makes it even more of a vertical.

Excellent pose and details, agree with cropping a bit from the left

Very very nice Vanessa.Gorgeous bird. Killer light and details. Love the trunk. Lighting is wonderful - does snow provided that nice "fill flash" effect? (I've never photographed in snow)

Very nice Vanessa, the lighting and tones in the image are very appealing. I liked the sharpness and composition too (as is) with the OOF background. Beautiful!
