Taken on the same morning with the group of Horned Larks.
In theory there were two Lapland Longspurs in the group but I never found them.
Thanks for looking.

What a pretty little bird....
Very nice POV, and sharp details.

Karl, you have a nice image here of a bird that I have had very little luck with. I do think that your snow is a bit grey, and that the bird's head could have been turned into the light just a bit. Maybe process a bit brighter? Curious for other opinions, and again, this is far better than any of my images of snow buntings.

Thanks, Grace.
I removed all the blues from the snow and that's what you see.
I changed the color balance now, adding blue and cyan.
Snow is always hard to process.

Beautiful shot of the Snow Bunting! Excellent exposure, POV and feather details. The RP is an improvement.

Nice one of a bird I,ve not seen for years. I tried a colour pickeron the snow and it came out pretty spot on at 216,216,216, so I am yet again confused. The op looked fine to me on my gear s is it just down to different montors. I know I am slightly colour blind but I see hardly any(if any) difference in the two.Cheers

Hi Karl - Great sharpness and detail. I also really like the detail you've brought out in the snow. Although the difference is subtle, I prefer the rp.

Rachel

Very nice image Karl. I like the colours and details on the bird and how it blends in with the BG. Nice one. Thanks for sharing

Hi Karl, excellent low perspective, and I really like how the splash of browns of the bunting pop against both its own white plumage and the winter BG. Your repost, although subtle as Rachel mentioned has turned out for the better.
