Great running pose and good HA. The good look at the feet really adds a lot.
Exposure was spot on in this difficult to expose for bird.
Unfortunately the bird is a bit soft. It looks like the focus point was on back foot and/or
your SS was also a bit slow for this type of action.

Nice take off shot, showing off the funky looking feet.

Love the running pose. Looks fairly sharp--look at the feet that are just behind the plane of the face. Looks like a bit of motion blur on the head.... For the repost: some Eye Doctor work, NIK 50-50 on the bird only and reduced the opacity of that layer to about 33%.

Love also the looking at you head angle.

ps: forgot to mention; all as detailed in Digital Basics. (https://store.birdsasart.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=252)

Thank you Gail,Karl,Dan and Grace your comments much appreciated, I would love to have had more shutter speed but we are a bit short of light in the UK at this time of year. I could have pushed the ISO up to 800 but I don,t feel that I am experienced enough in dealing with the noise the 7D produces at that ISO.
Thank you Arthur for taking the time to work on and repost the image, the improvement is noticable. I am not familiar with NIK, I have heard of it but assumed it was Nikon software:e3 I am taking it that you did some selective sharpening on the bird? Anyway thanks once again.
