Hello, another image taken west from Depoe Bay on the Oregon Coast. Thanks to Andrew Mclanahan, I was able to enhance the detail and contrast of the cloud formation using the NIK Detail Enhancer.

I would have stepped to the right or just cloned out the trees in the LHC.
Personally, I think the Nik software is not needed at all for cameras like the D810.
You can get plenty of detail out of 36mp in ACR and PS6 without additional software.
The "extractor" left hard edges on the clouds and way too much contrast for anything approaching a natural look.

Hi Terry, agree with Dan, no need to include the fluff bottom LHS. adds nothing IMHO. I like this cloud formation more than the previous post, and also think it might look better with the extractor backed off a little, especially those clouds just above the horizon.

Hey Terry.
I like the simplicity of the scene, but agree that it really needs to be without those branches in the lower LH corner.
I would crop them out, but you can also clone them if it falls within your own personal processing ethic.
Dan is right - I hardly touch the detail extractor when working with my D800 files...:Whoa!:

Hi Terry, i would clone out the branches and then this scene will work much better. I do still go for the detail extractor on my D800 but in almost all cases I do reduce the opacity of the layer quite significantly.
