Cool pose, Bill.
Saw my first ones a couple weeks ago on the West Coast.
Very attractive Ducks.

Interesting pose indeed. I normally don't enjoy "backward poses" but this one I like alot. The lighting on the head is just great. I can't take my look away from the eye.

What an unusual shot Bill ! Just worked out where the head is !! They say that birds eggs are often the shape of the eventual bird to hatch. This certainly looks like the shape of a duck egg!!
Very interesting indeed .

I always love these very neat mussel perches you guys get at that spot. I like the preening pose, comp, water BG.

I love the duck but my favorite part is the mussel bed perch!
Good IQ as always,
Gail

I'm with Gail ! Those mussels make the image for me. If you have more of them, I wouldn't mind that composition!

Thank you all. Grace, I don't have any more mussel pile at the bottom of this one; it was just a slight crop top and left. I probably should have left just a little more room.
