Can't help with the ID, clean simple image which I like a lot, just a thought but I would like to see a cropped just a little tighter, love the reflection.

I think it would be a Greater Yellowlegs if you have them in India at all. Nice image, excellent head angle and reflection.

Hi Sanjeev, for me you can see the difference in IQ between the two bodies, guess you used the 7D for the reach?

Having an almost neutral BKG works, might just mask it and then bring it up in Levels to around the RH base line, just lifts the whole image I think and looks 'overall' brighter IMHO, but obviously mask the subject! If you use a % Linear burn it brings back more detail in the subject, especially in the head. Great you got the reflection in, perhaps try a 16 x 10 format, allows for less cropping and could work as an option?

Steve, yes I did use the 7D for this. After this shoot I swftly decided to sell the 7D. I don't know why the 7D files vary so much in different lighting conditions. I have not bought the 7D II yet. Will surely drop Rachel a line.
I agree with your suggestions reg the above image. I will do as suggested.

Hi Sanjeev, as ever, just a thought.

Certainly the 7D in Dan's hands is awesome, no question and perhaps some of the best images from that camera I have seen. I just think it is less forgiving in certain light and you really need to nail the Exposure. If you get stuck on the Linear burn drop me a line, it's so easy and very simple.

Hi Sanjeev, if this was from your SA trip, it is a Sandpiper. Good low angle, and nice calm water to achieve a fairly good reflection. Comp wise, maybe a bit off the top and bottom.
