Excellent image of nicely posed Junco on nice perch.Rest is superb. Great composition.
Vertical portrait would also be a great one.

Satish.

Very nice image, love the setting of it. I feel the face specialy around the eyes to be a bit soft, maybe a bit more sharpening would do the trick. Other than that a great image.

Hi Karl
Both work for me. Personally I thinka little more detail in the back would lift it but thats just me.
Cheers

Karl, You threaded the needle and found just the right spot to get the little one in the clear. I like both images.

Karl,
Absolutely superb vertical composition. However I like both the images and can't favor single one.. :S3:

Hi Karl, nice image, I personally prefer the vertical as I found the leaves in the first one a bit too much. Lovely detail and pose. TFS

Hi Karl,
I prefer the OP. I like the way the pine needles frame the bird.
I think the junco's face fell just outside the DOF and is a bit soft.
I would see if you could sharpen it up a bit.
Nice one Karl,
Gail

Thanks Gail.
I think it is time to redo the micro adjustment.
The active focus point was right on the eye.
I checked the other images and it looks to me that the camera/lens
front focusing.

I like the OP best for the sme reason as Gail. Better framing. Besides that it looks great and reminds me of a postcard. A bit more sharpening to the face will help. Well done Karl

Looks like a postcard. I prefer op, but do like that you removed the white sap? near the feet in the Vert. The neutral background sets him off well.

Lovely image either way, and I actually don't have a preference. Agree on the face needing a bit more sharpening.
