I found a red-headed weaver nest while on holiday and was allowed to get a few photographs of the mom and dad.
This image of the female is pretty much how it came out the camera with only a small crop and slight sharpening for web.

Nice framing by the leaves in the LUC and good BG.
IQ is good and really like the feather detail.
I just wish the stem wasn't intersecting the back as it pulls the eye away from the bird. An option, if you were so inclined, would be to clone it out.

A lovely pose of a pretty bird. I see Gail's point about the stem above, but I'm not sure it's enough of a problem to resort to heroic measures. I might be tempted to tone down the highlights just one notch, although they're not blown by any means. Especially on the near stem.
