I only managed to get two shots off with a quick break in the clouds allowing the sun to brighten things up. This is the better shot.

Hi John,
You have managed to capture the iridescence very well. You have a good POV but lower would have been even better! Good head turn as well.
I also like the way the breast is seen through the bow wave.
The image is a bit tight for my tastes and I would like a bit more room all around especially behind the tail.
Your whites are a bit hot at the front of the white area and I would see of you could tone them down using DPP of LR highlight sliders.
The blacks just above the white area and the tail also lack detail and I would see if you could recover them as well.

Hi Gail, thanks for pointing a few things out to me.
I have had another go at the shot and think it might look better ?
Unfortunately i am using Elements 11, this wont recognise Raw files from the 7d2 so the first shot was taken from a jpeg file and processed using this program.
The second shot is processed from a Raw file using canon DPP which i am not familiar with, but had a quick play with it to see what i could manage.

John, I agree with what Gail said. Also, for the mark II, which I just acquired, you can get the new DPP 4 for processing. It is much improved. I got it from Canon Europe site (don't know if it is on the USA site yet)
