This was taken from the Acoma Pueblo in west central New Mexico. It is a number of years old and I am just now getting around to developing it. As no tripods are allowed at the pueblo, it was shot handheld (and using a Canon digicamera, at that).

I have an alternative version in which I have cropped out from the bottom about 2/3 of the foreground rock formation, but I think this version is a stronger image, as I think the massive rock formation in the foreground adds 'weight' and counterbalances the sky island in the background.

Best,

David

Hi David

The first thing I noticed is the grainy image/noise that's apparent. I don't know what a Canon digicamera is exactly but if you say this image is a quite old then likely its been created with old technology using a low resolution sensor. I would be happy enough with the composition but I think the image lacks depth in the colours and might benefit from a bit of contrast enhancement IMHO. Again, poor colour depth is pointing to old tech stuff. You haven't explained how you processed the image, so a bit of work in PS may help. Will try when I get home.. Impressive country..

I like the depth from FG to midground to BG. I think some contrast and color work could be done to enhance the older technology. I like the crop as is. Worth some work!
