We've got quite a few of these in our back garden at the moment, this one was perched in our plum tree out of the sun, waiting to be fed.

All comments/critique welcome.

I like the curious look and soft light and only find the OOF leaf in the foreground a bit distracting.

Thanks Axel, I see what you mean about the OOF leaf, must admit I hadn't noticed it until you mentioned it!

Like it esp. the angled pose. Agree with the Ax-man about the big o-o-f leaf. Getting rid of the tiny nub on the frame edge in the green leaf above the far tertials would help to. Just had a thought: a crop from the bottom would lessen the effect of the o-o-f leaf so here goes on both suggestions... The crop from the right eliminated yet another distraction...

After looking at the repost I have two more suggestions: get rid of the more-focused leaf in front of the bird and the same for the small vertical branch in the urc. The former will be more difficult that the latter...

Good head turn and pose. The leaf below the head is a distraction to me. You did well keeping the bird sharp!

Hey Ben, You are most welcome. It is amazing how much a simple crop can improve an image. I am headed your way; will be in London briefly on Thursday and then cruising around the British Isles on a Zegrahm's trip.
