One of the last macro images I took this summer before the cold drove them all away. There was a slight drizzle in the air which accounts for the water drops on the eyes.
Olympus E-M1. Pentax 100mm Macro lens. 1/200 @ f8. ISO 640. Macro flash. Raw converted in PS CS6

Sharp, well done close up with great details. Like the natural color. Would like to see NR of BG. TFS.

Cheers,
Miro

Hi David and welcome to the Macro forum! Excellent detail in the eyes and the water drops - acting like little magnifying glasses - add a lot of interest! Miro's suggestion of some NR on the background would help to smooth things out. You might also consider carefully cloning some of the flash-generated spectral highlights. :S3: I hope to see more of your images here in Macro!

Very nice closeup and at f8 you do seem to have got a good DOF

The water droplets really improve this shot.

As above I would like to see the BG noise reduced and the highlights worked on

As a technical exercise I think this is very good. The blade of grass however from my point of view is too distracting. Easy for me to say and not so easy for you to correct, but you will get more chances this coming season.
