This was taken on Lake St. Clair about a month ago. They are usually further out in the lake but a strong wind kept them along the shore on this day. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Sweet shot, Jim. Nice downwing position; lovely lake behind making the Boney stand out beautifully. A species that continues to elude me. Nicely done.

Very good flight shot Jim, the Gull really does stand out against that b/g.

Superb. The detail on the dorsal surface of the near wing is incredible. You gotta love juvies. You might with to tone down or eliminate the specular highlights on the bill.

Excellent sharpness and contrast of feather detail and a very pleasing BG--shows what you can do with a common bird with great technique.

The whites here are gorgeous, with detail that gives it a glowing look against the water.

Killer 3d Look and IQ, Jim, like the BG also.
Very nice work.

Perfect pose to show off the beautiful wing markings, and I love the marbled background. The only flight ops these guys gave me this year were in heavy overcast days with very slow SS...nothing good came out of those! Wish this was mine...

I had a great time shooting these guys a few years ago. They showed up for a week or so and fed on flying insects in the evening over a pond. I thought they were some kind of a tern when I first saw them.
Lots of fun and very challenging so good job getting this frame. I like the wing position, feather detail, exposure and BG. Well done
