Every time I'm here I shoot variations of these same formations, which I find much more interesting than the classic view. Canon 5D3, 70-200 f/2.8 at 75, ISO 200, f/8, 1/500. I was into hand holding this time, exploring compositions with a right-brain approach. What attracts me to this one is the relative flatness, both tonal and perspective, which minimizes clues as to near and far, giving it a sort of tapestry effect.

Sweet image...! Love that light. I think the ridge line makes a stronger lead than the valley but maybe using that would have compromised other things... Good stuff...

Lovely image Diane, I might be tempted to tone the highlights down just a touch more and go darker on the shadows.

Thanks guys! I'll have a look at it with the tonal suggestions -- I like the flatness but it's getting a bit to the artistic side and it could certainly go darker.

This is lovely Diane...agree with Don on toning down the highlights a bit. Beautiful abstract of this area!
