Like the composition and light. It looks very scientific.

Hi Jon. Very nice rim lighting and overall sharpness. The tiny developing legs add interest. Very well done!

This is very interesting, Jon, and quite nice. Subject, sharpness and composition are all excellent. But although I like this image as it is, I think that your subject was a bit too opaque for best results with the dark ground illumination approach. And if it were mine, I might also have considered rotating the image counter-clockwise a little, to put it more on a diagonal.

I like the approach and the subject. While it is a little more opaque than is typically used for this type of lighting, it gives us a new way of looking at the tadpole which I like.

I like the rim lighting on black BG. My only suggestion is to lift the center of the body just a touch as I feel it looks a little dark and there is detail there not easily seen. Tip of tail could be a little sharper also.. very interesting shot..

Great image Jonathan.
These tadpole are very agile and finding them at standstill is very difficult and that too take a image like this!! Wow.

Liking this backlit image although I agree about the body being a bit lighter to show off the detail

Looks like something you would see down a microscope!
