Here's another shot of a snow goose from Bosque del Apache on my recent trip where I met up with Doug Brown and his wife Kristin. I'd never seen so many geese in a single location before ... and when they took off it made it pretty difficult to pick just one to focus on!

This is a full frame shot, had to add canvas to the front to get a good comp.

Shooting Info:
Canon 5D3 | 500 f/4 II + 1.4xIII
1/1250 | f5.6 | ISO 640

Wonderful shot! What would you think about lightening the beak and feet a little?

What an awesome image Miguel. Love everything about it.... subject, light and the awesome BG.

If it was mine I would try to remove some of the Yellow cast on the bird ... not the yellow light, but what I think are areas of yellow color cast in the darkest whites.... maybe?

Great light and picture-perfect downstroke of the wings. Really nicely done, and the canvas extension is seamless.

Beautiful Bosque light with a perfect downstroke of the wings. Well done. I may also try reducing the yellow of the head and neck just a tad bit.

What a fabulous image--I really like the golden tone in the forward part of the bird--it evokes evening sunlight and is, I think, one of the essential elements of the dramatic impact of this shot.

Great looking down wings pose Miguel. The detail and exposure look right on too and I like the smooth BG that it's flying against. Very cool.

Couldn't ask for a better Snow Goose pose or BG. Detail is excellent too!

I've noticed on my own images that some methods for taming the highlights enhance the "color cast" (for a lack of a better term) of the "whites"... and because not all white areas in the OP have that same yellow tint to them (as a result of the time of day), I wonder (as in not knowing) if the yellower areas in the chest, neck and head are "natural" or enhanced (not-optimally) by the method of controlling the whites... Could the color of the feet offer any clue?

The extreme flexibility of raw processing can bring out colors that weren't obvious before. My answer is just to make it look the way I feel is best. Sometimes a global adjustment isn't any more the "truth" than selective adjustments, either in areas or in colors or tonalities.
